Friday Meet & Drinks

Meet us in the Dolphin Pub for a few informal drinks prior to the Conference – bonus points for wearing Guz.tech clothing!

Where?

The Conference will take place in a large lecture theatre at the Roland Levinsky Building at the University of Plymouth – a major building on the Drake Circus roundabout, so hard to miss. – https://www.plymouth.ac.uk/facilities/roland-levinsky-building

When?

The building will be open from 08:00 on Saturday 30 November and the Conference starts at 09:00 sharp.  It will end sometime after 17:00.

Tickets?

On the day, please bring your email with proof of purchase.  On arrival, please head to the desk by the Conference Hall entrance to check-in and get a wrist band.  For those who ordered before the cut-off date on November 11, your Guz.tech clothing and mugs can also be collected here.

Travelling to Guz.tech

The University is a few minutes’ walk from Plymouth’s Railway and Bus/Coach Stations.

Car parking is not available on site so consider nearby parking at Drake Circus or Regent Street. Note the possible charge of £15 for more than six hours. More details at https://www.plymouth.ac.uk/about-us/visit/getting-here

Once the lectures have finished, there will be a raffle with some super prizes on offer.  Don’t forget to bring cash for tickets.

Refreshments

From 08:00, a University catering café will be open inside the venue offering teas, coffees etc if you want to buy them.  See https://www.plymouth.ac.uk/facilities/the-container-cafe

As part of the cost of your ticket, tea and coffee is provided in the morning and afternoon breaks, although the Container Café will also be available if you want something different at your own cost. 

For anyone who ordered Pasty and Pop, it will be available at the start of the lunchtime break.  Please have your confirmation of order email ready.  Again, the Container Café will be open and there are many local shops, pubs and restaurants in the area if you prefer.

After the Conference closes, do join the speakers and organisers in the Atrium right outside of the Lecture Theatre for a beer or two.  The Container will stay open, serving drinks.
